Burning Ring of Fire - Planning Thread

Hi cachers! I've been honored with the "appointment" of running the Burning Ring of Fire Salsa event this year. I'd like to get feedback from everyone about what they'd like to see at this year's event. Anything new, anything different? What date would work for a majority of people (or better yet - what date should I avoid)? I was shooting for mid/late August and even into September. All suggestions are welcome and encouraged.

    Thanks,

    Cory -TwoCs-

While I am touched that our event last year has been well-recieved within the community, I would prefer the 'Burning Ring of Fire' event not take place this year.

    Please respect my wishes.

    Regards,
    Chris

Why did WitzAbout ask for volunteers?

Why don't you want it to take place this year?

Because I thought it was a great event, and didn't want it to have to be missed. I was not aware that Team Laxson has a strong ownership to the name of the event. But I can respect that and understand that they would rather see it skip a year this year so they can work on it another year. Obviously, it would have been easier if we had heard concerns when I posted the original note, that way it would have avoided this issue. I am very sorry for any confusion.
I still think there is value in a coin sharing event in the state. But then we will just have to come up with a different name for it.

Wits pretty much summed it up. We (me) took a passive approach to the subject when originally posted, and with the lack of replies it didn't appear that we needed to comment (as nothing was coming to fruition).

For the passive role that needs an apology, I apologize for the inconvience we have caused.

We also encourage others to create their own events and bring the community together for good times.

Okie dokie, I'll go ahead and change the event from Salsa to Sandwiches (like the one we did last year).
