Suggestion Box: Enhancements to the website

Our website, geocachingcolo.com, isn't perfect.  It will never be perfect.  We will always be changing things to meet what you (the caching community) want it to be.  It is our intent to grow the website through your comments and suggestions.

This is the place to voice your ideas.

Don't like the way something looks?  Great - tell us!

Have something that you'd like to see?  Wonderful!  Let us know!

Know of a better way to display information?  Post it here!

The volunteers that build and maintain this website are just that; volunteers.  We can't think of everything, and are relying on you to spawn the ideas that will bring our site to the next level!

Thank you in advance for all your great suggestions!

Re: Suggestion Box: Enhancements to the website

    Suggestions for recommended caches:

    South:
    Type: Traditional/Regular-sized 1.5/1.5
     GCP84Y "quick and easy"
A cache with a good but short hike, and should be easy find

    Type: Traditional/Regular-sized 2.0/1.5
     GCPVGY "Ranger Rick #1"
A more challenging hike, but not too long - a little harder to find, rewarding cache: trade items for all ages!

    Type: Traditional/Large-sized 1.5/1.5
     GCTF43 "Witz-ky Chaser"
A quick find on the North end of town - lots of stuff to trade, filled from an event

    Denver:
    Type: Traditional/Regular-sized 2.0/1.5
     GCHGJX "West Fork Trail Cache"
A creative challenging hide in Highlands Ranch

    4x4:
    Type: Traditional/Small-sized 2.5/3.0
     GCM6FH "Hilltop at Mt. Herman"
A nice hike with a fantasitic view and other caches in the area - 4x4, high-clearance or very, very careful driving required to get to the parking area

Re: Suggestion Box: Enhancements to the website

Take a look at the land management page for how we divided the state. We can add or change the areas around a bit if there is a need, but for now we'll stick with the basics.

Re: Suggestion Box: Enhancements to the website

The Photo Album is now live on our website.  This is version 1.0; we can always upgrade/change if the general public is looking for something different.

Thanks to MrWitzAbout for putting this together.  Your efforts are appreciated.

And to rsgeek for all the energy into the Land Management pages.  Thank you.

The Bio portion of the GCCO forums does not like tables backgrounds or borders. too much.  We experienced the same challenge when we were trying to get the geocaching STATS bar to work (take a look at my geocaching profile for an example). The code behind that doesn't work too well in these forums.

From what I can see, it appears the biggest issue is with the background color changes and borders. The layout seems to be OK, but you're missing the colors and borders.

Ah!, excellent work on the contributions to Our (all of our's) CO geocaching community guys! (And of course, gals.)

    Keep up the good work.

It's nice having such useful, entertaining and especially user contributed resources for this avocation of ours.

(And no I am not picking my nose in one of those pictures...Ick! [+o(]...I was just beholding something grand!)

Re: Suggestion Box: Enhancements to the website

More updates today - Would love to hear thoughts.

I've added a 'Caches by State' link in the left column.  The map doesn't look the greatest (but we can fix that).  Useful?  Pointless?  Worth keeping up?

For a complete list of updates to the site, click on the 'We're working on it' link from the Home Page (upper right).

A big thank you to MrWitzAbout for updating the photo section.

Please provide your Point of View on the Caches by State sections, and feel free to toss another idea or 2 out there.

Re: Suggestion Box: Enhancements to the website

I like the Caches by State map and all the listings broke out when you click on it....

Started from last page with oldest caches in state. Went through about 35 pages and all kinds of questions on caches popped up.... But that is for another time....

    Great work on  the updates
