    Buring Ring of Fire

Hi all! (This message posted without the foreknowledge of Team Laxson. Apologies in advance if I'm stepping on any toes)

Team Laxson brought us the great event last year called Buring Ring of Fire. It was a Salsa and Geocoin super-event.  It is on the calendar for this year.

But due to work commitments, Team Laxson does not look to be able to get the event going this year.  If we want to see this event happen again this year, we will need some people to help plan and host the event.

If you are interested in seeing this event happen this year, please let us know.  If you do not respond to this message, you are voting to remove the Buring Ring of Fire event from the calendar this year.

    Re: Buring Ring of Fire

I enjoyed this event last year, and depending on the date of the event, would attend again this year.

    Re: Buring Ring of Fire

Well, it looks like this thread has been viewed 48 times. One reply. Nobody willing to help.

That sounds like 48 votes against, and 1 for.  While I don't count the votes against equally, it doesn't sound like there is much interest in having this event.  Anybody else interested in seeing this event happen again?

    RE: [sic]Buring Ring of Fire

In the interest of full disclosure,
while I can not commit to feet-on-the-ground/muscle assistance
    on the other hand
I'd gladly commit to a little graphic and "administrative assistance"
    if
somebody else wants to be the full and responsible EM (Event Manager)...;-)

Feel free to contact me with any ideas/questions/comments.

Thanks to Team Laxson for the event's illustrious pedigree and here's to many more...

super-event...is that like a mega? There weren't that many people attending last year. Wink [;)]

Seriously, it was fun but someone would have to step up to run it.

Not every event has to be "annual" though and I think with so many "large" events going on it might be scaring some people away from hosting events - the people that just want to have 30 cachers get together for pizza or something. Note to those interested in that kind of event: there is plenty of room on the calendar for any event, no matter what size.

    Re: Burning Ring of Fire

I guess the 'N' got burned out of the orginal title! LOL

I've hide a private offer by a cacher willing to run it somewhere North - in the general region where it had been run before.

I was looking at running it in Greenland Open Space - where the Fall Frenzy was last year - About 20 min N of Colorado Springs and about 30 min S of Denver.

Please post if you have a preference to which direction you want to head to get to this event.

Also, if we do have it, we will probably move it out a week or 2 or 3, so it won't be the same weekend as the meteor-camping events.

No - everyone came in tights with a cape and a letter on their chest. LOL. I just called it super as it was a combo event that was interesting, fun and had a lot going on. In other words, I was saying the event was well done, not that it was super-sized (r)

    What size makes a super-sized-event? 100? 250? :)

    Apolgy accepted.

We had a lot of fun last year doing this event, and look forward to hosting it again in the future.

    Until then,
